Life Dissonance is a contemporary jazz quintet led by Spanish trumpeter and composer Álvaro Ocón Ocón.

The project is characterized by the performance of original music, in which the trumpeter explores the inclusion of dissonant textures within a tonal context, a musical proposal that reflects the emotional and existential complexities of life. Influenced by artists such as Ambrose Akinmusire and Guillermo Klein, Ocón seeks to capture both the lights and shadows of the human experience in an introspective and deeply personal way.

The music is distinguished by its intensity and intimate atmosphere, in which each note seems to be carefully designed to create a unique sound experience. The project is enriched by the participation of a cast of highly talented young European musicians, whom Ocón deeply admires and respects. These musicians, traveling companions from the first moment he heard them, bring an exceptional interpretive quality that blends perfectly with the trumpeter's vision.

Life Dissonance's approach not only challenges the conventions of traditional jazz, but also invites the listener on an emotional journey, exploring harmonic tensions and the subtleties of dissonance as means of expressing human complexity.
