Mark Wade Trio - Moving Day
Mark Wade Trio - Moving Day
(CD)
Moving Day is the second release of the Mark Wade Trio following the highly successful debut Event Horizon in 2015.
The trio is within the modern jazz landscape with fluid and responsive interplay that gives the music and ease and precision. Seven of the nine tracks are written by Wade and can be described as lyrically melodic with intricate rhythm and well-written arrangements that give each member room to express themselves.
Since graduating NYU, Wade has balanced his musical schedule between jazz, classical, and commercial gigs. His jazz credits include playing in the string section for the Jimmy Heath Big Band’s performances of Ernie Wilkins’s Four Black Immortals, backing singer Stacey Kent on The Today Show, playing with trumpeter Bill Warfield’s New York Jazz Repertory Orchestra, and recording with vocalist Elli Fordyce. He also recorded with NYU alumnus Neil Diamond as part of a band made up of other alumni on a song the famous singer wrote for the university. (It was never released.) He has performed with the numerous classical ensembles, including the Key West Symphony with which he backed guitarist Sharon Isbin and violinist Robert McDuffe, both of them Grammy winners. He is presently principal bassist of the Bronx Opera Company.
