W4 (Waltersdorph 4) is a quartet put together by bassist and composer Anders Waltersdorph Hjemmen. The music draws inspiration from clear voices in the epicenter of jazz, New York.

The interaction is in focus and the music and its paths are formed organically, but still clearly. This makes music concrete, despite the fact that playfulness and improvisation in real time are the focus.

The album is a documentation of Anders Waltersdorph Hjemmen's music. The title, or Saturn's sixth moon, "Titan", is a flashback to the binoculars Anders sold to buy his first bass. The disc therefore has several titles dedicated to moons in our solar system. The mystery, emptiness and ignorance of space are reflected in the music, and we hear dramatic, melancholic compositions in an energetic and rough setting. The roots come from traditional American jazz music, and out of respect for tradition, the record includes 2 standard songs in addition to the 6 original compositions.
